The Gamble of Love

After the gambling-addicted Sir Giles Staverley (Christopher Plummer) squanders all his money and wealth on dice games, he realizes that he only has one valuable thing left: his daughter Serena (Helena Bonham Carter). In a desperate final bet, he wagers on his daughter's marriage, firmly convinced that he will not lose this time. But he loses again.
